Chidiyaghar is a house named after Mrs. Chidiya Kesari Narayan, late wife of retired principal, Mr. Kesari Narayan, also called Babuji. The story is about Babuji, his three sons - Ghotak, Gomukh and Kapi and their respective wives - Koyal, Mayuri and Chuhiya, Grandchildren - Gillu, Gajgamini and Chitti, daughter Maina, son-in-law Totaram, sister Billo, servant Gadha Prasad, Gadha Prasad’s wife - Nagin and Gadha Prasad’s brother - Mendak Prasad. Names of all the members of Chidiyaghar resemble with an animal and each individual bears some characteristics of that animal.
Some people try to fool Gadha Prasad and pay him 2 crore for old newspapers. Kapi tells his boss that he wishes to return him his high currency notes. Kapi’s boss refuses to accept the cash. He assures Kapi that he would promote him in the near future
Kapi's boss advises him to deposit ten lakh rupees in his bank account. Kesari Narayan's daughter-in-laws inform him that the goverment has decided to ban high currency notes.
