Mahendra kumar(50), a rich businessman, lived happily in a posh bungalow of Mumbai with his wife Jamuna(47) and their sons Anil(25), Rajeev(21) and Sameer(20). Middle son Rajeev has joined his father's business in Mumbai. Elder son Anil asks permission to get married to girl, from a small village in Gujarat & settle there for good. The younger Sameer wants to go to London to make a career there. Mahendra (who was a little ill) asks them, "You all can do whatever you feel like, but who will look after your mother after I die?" All of them unanimously promise that, "God forbid, in case, that happens, we will wind up our whatever business- wherever, and come back to Mumbai on our mother's birthday, with our individual families to live together permanently!"
