In his trademark straight-face style of humour, his comic timing and chemistry with his interviewee is what brings alive the tongue-in-cheek humour on screen.

Somebody who needs no introduction. And in this show, he plays so many different characters, that it would be difficult to introduce them all! As the infamous interviewee, Shekhar plays out this satirical comedy with the ease of a seasoned actor, as he impersonates the known and the not-so-well-known.

She is a perfect housewife who enjoys cooking specially for her husband. She puts her family first when it comes to good things in life. Mrs. Sharma feels her husband is the smartest of all and takes immense pride in being referred to as Mrs. Sharma. Her only wish in life is if Mumbai could also become like Allahabad.

Ragini is the 19 year old sister of Mr. Sharma who aspires to become an actress one day. But, she is in no position to share her thoughts with her brother as she is afraid if her brother finds out; he will send her back to Allahabad and marry her off to a Tiwari or Pandey. Ragini’s effort to match up to the life of an uptown and modern girl brings out all the humor in her character.

Dilip Kumar Sharma aka dabbu is 11 years old and is Mr. Sharma’s only son. He is smart, well mannered and knows how to deal with situations. A forward thinking child who understands the situation that the family is in, he always tries to cover up the mistakes committed by his family members. He is the apple of everyone’s eyes.

Jayantilal Parikh is Vinaychand’s father and the most respected person in the Pol. He is educated, religious and wise. Jayantilal is always hassled by his wife Kantaben but he never complains. He is hopeful that one day God will listen to his prayers and that a wise girl will come in Vinaychand’s life who will take care of him…Jayantilal loves his family and takes care to see that his wife and son sail through despite of their foolishness. He gives us the moral of the story at the end of each episode.

Mr Aiyar is a scientist and is not very involved in the society on  adaily basis. His biggest irritation is the harmless flirting of Jethalal with Babita. His dark complexion and Babita’s milky white complexion creates an intriguing pair for the society. And the most disappointed is Jethalal.
